Quote Game

Last week Kate posted a quote from a movie and asked if anyone was able to guess what movie it was from. Somehow, we ended up turning that one quote into a game in the comments. People started quoting their favorite lines from different movies and letting others guess the name of the movie. Kate and I decided to see if we could keep the game going and since Kate already does Acro on Wednesdays, I’ll use my blog for the quote game (Seriously, somebody help me think of a good name for it.) and we can play on Fridays.

So, I will start with the first quote and if you don’t know it, no big deal; you can still go ahead and put up your own quote and I will try to keep tabs on everything. The quotes don’t have to be obvious ( I.E. - “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.) but try not to be too obscure. (In other words, no foreign films with subtitles, please.) Oh, yeah…and NO GOOGLING!

Ready? Ok, here’s the first quote:

“Dear Mr. Vernon: We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. What we did was wrong, but we think you're crazy to make us write an essay, telling you who we think we are. What do you care? You see us as you want to see us, in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. You see us as: a brain, an athlete, a basket case, princess, and a criminal. Correct? That's the way we saw each other at 7 o'clock this morning. We were brainwashed.”

I have absolutely nothing to post. I’m tapped out. I’m dry. I’m empty. So, until something happens in my life I think I might actually want to blog about, I leave you with something stolen…from none other than Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader.

Enjoy…

moral dilemma

My brother wants me to download (onto MY computer) the song ‘Grillz’ by Nelly for him. Since my family is currently without a home computer I frequently download music for them. I usually have no problem with this, but now my dear, wonderful, stupid brother wants me to download a song that may very well be the start of the decline of western civilization.

Got 30 down at the bottom, 30 mo at the top
All invisible set in little ice cube blocks
If I could call it a drink, call it a smile on da rocks
If I could call out a price, lets say I call out a lot
I got like platinum and white gold, traditional gold
I'm changin grillz errday, like Jay change clothes,
I might be grilled out nicely (oh) In my white tee (oh),
Or on South Beach (oh) in my wife b.
V V and studded you can tell when they cut it
ya see my granmama hate it, but my lil mama love it

See what I Mean? Don’t get me wrong, I listen to stupid, nonsense songs sometimes (who doesn’t sing along with ‘My Humps’?) but this is re-goddamn-diculous. Who approved this song is what I want to know. Exactly who said “yeah, Nelly…that’s a great song. So great in fact, you should make it your next single.” You mean to honestly tell me that not one person in that little meeting thought, ‘Grillz? Seriously? This is the worst thing I’ve ever heard, someone should stop him before he has a chance to record this and market it to the masses.’

All I’m sayin’ is things would have been different had I been at that fucking meeting.
