It seems like just yesterday…

Yep, that’s right. My brother just graduated High School. And that’s my little sister, who just so happens to be graduating in two years. Adorable, ain’t they?

Ahh yes, and here’s the part where the entire senior class huddled together and started to sing…

Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey-ey, goodbye.

*sigh* How fucking cute is that?

And the best quote of the evening:

The Bear: “You know, it’s funny how things change. Six years ago I was here to check out all the hot teenage chicks. This time I’m here to check out all the hot moms.”

Mini Rant

About two weeks ago someone moved the trashcan in the bathroom at work. They took it from its normal spot right next to the sink and placed it by the door. So for the past week I have been drying off my hand and then dropping the paper towels onto the floor before I remember that the god damned trashcan has been moved. It’s like a muscle memory thing, ya know? I’ve been throwing my paper towels in the same spot for almost three years.

This was driving me absolutely crazy until last Friday when the cleaning people, I guess, in all their infinite wisdom, decided it would be best if they just stopped providing paper towels all together.

At least now I don’t have to worry about the moved trashcan bothering my OCD, because I’m too fucking busy looking for something besides my pants to dry my hands off with.

Fuck.

I guess I should just be grateful that I still have soap.

The best part of my day:

Watching the Clerks II preview on
Video Detective.

I’m a total Jay and Silent Bob junkie. In fact, Clecks II has just jumped ahead of Snakes on a Plane for the movie I am most looking forward to this summer.

Jeepers, creepers....where’d ya get them peepers

Does anyone else get totally freaked out when a truck that looks exactly like the Jeepers Creepers truck pulls up behind them, or is it just me?

Its just me, isn’t it?

Reason number 256 to love Wikipedia:

If you search the word Santeria on Wikipedia it will pull up plenty of information on the actual religion…

With the option of being redirected to information on the
Sublime song.

Totally. Fucking. Cool.

Who knew? I mean; I realized wikipedia was great, but who knew it was this great?

Who knew it took three paragraphs to explain the song Santeria?

Who knew that a
British punk ska band covered Santeria?

For that matter, who knew there was such a thing as a British punk ska band?

Jeez, you really do learn something new every day.

Bad bad blogger

God, I’m a horrible blogger. I post something on average about once a week, and that’s only if I’m having a good week. Honestly I think a lot of it is sheer laziness. I actually have like four different pictures on my computer at home that I want to put on here but I’m just to preoccupied with other things to sit down and type out an explanation for the pic. Like this for example:

This armadillo was driving my dog crazy one morning. It looks like he was trying to dig a hole and crawl into the fence with my dog. Which let me tell ya, is a really bad idea. After I shooed the armadillo away (aka: saved his life) I followed him around taking pictures. This happened months ago. I thought the pictures were cool and wanted to post them on my blog…but I was too lazy.

See what I mean?

Anyway, my latest preoccupation is
Flyleaf.

Seriously great band from Temple, Tx. I urge you to check them out. You can watch their single ‘I’m so sick’ on Launch. Great song. I should know, I’ve been listening to nothing but this song for a week.

Another little tid-bit: I need to clean my fish tank out. While I normally hate this chore, I am seriously dreading it this time. One on the fish recently died and I forgot to scoop it out. It disappeared. This means the other fish ate it. And, that means I am going to find yucky, ugly fish spine in the tank the next time I clean it.

Imagine me saying “ewww, yucky!” in my best Butters voice.

food etiquette or plain craziness?

Today, Fantasy Disco Ford celebrated Administrative Professionals Day (Secretary's Day) a week late by inviting all the Admin. people to lunch. As Kate and I are looking over the menu, we notice that most of the food is either some type of salad or sandwich. (Which makes sense because it is a lunch menu after all.) But, Kate mentioned she didn’t want a sandwich because they are difficult to eat in public. (You can’t exactly use a fork on a sandwich.) And she brings up a very good point, because I actually keep a mental list of things I will not order in a restaurant when I am dining with people other than family and close friends.

The list includes:

Fried Chicken
Corn on the cob
Salad a lot of restaurants leave the lettuce in very large chucks and/or give you cherry tomatoes that are impossible to cut without squirting somebody in the eye with tomato juice.
Sandwiches or wraps
that you have to eat with your hands (especially if they have a runny dressing.)
Spaghetti
or any similar pasta that is hard to twirl onto the tines of a fork.

I know I’m forgetting some. Anyone else have a list like this, or am I just crazy?
